Kidney function and obstructive lung disease: A bidirectional Mendelian randomisation study

This bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis examined the causal effects between kidney function and obstructive lung diseases. As part of the analysis, a genome-wide association study for FEV1/FVC was undertaken using data from 321,047 individuals of European ancestry enrolled in the UK Biobank. Measurement of FEV1 and FVC in the UK Biobank was performed using the Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
