Protocol summary of the CAPTURE validation in primary care study

This paper described an ongoing, prospective, cluster-randomized controlled trial that is evaluating the specificity and sensitivity of the COPD Assessment in Primary Care To Identify Undiagnosed Respiratory Disease and Exacerbation Risk (CAPTURE) tool for identifying clinically significant COPD. The tool comprises five questions in combination with PEF. So far, 3064 subjects aged 45–80 years without a prior COPD diagnosis have been enrolled. PEF is being measured using the Vitalograph Asmaplan peak flow meter.
