Relation between trunk fat volume and reduction of total lung capacity in obese men

This study examined whether MRI-measured trunk fat volume and distribution and abdominal volume were related to TLC and total intrathoracic volume at full inflation in 14 otherwise healthy obese middle-aged males. As part of the study, participants underwent seated lung function testing (FEV1, VC, FEV1/VC ratio) using a portable Vitalograph spirometer.
