Mortality of asthma, COPD, and asthma-COPD overlap during an 18-year follow up

This study examined total and cause-specific mortality associated with asthma, COPD, and asthma-COPD overlap over an 18-year follow-up period in a cohort of 5922 Finnish adults aged ≥30 years. As part of the study, lung function (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio) was measured using a Vitalograph wedge bellows spirometer.
