Relationships between slow vital capacity and measures of respiratory function on the ALSFRS-R

This study examined the relationship between SVC and symptoms measured using the revised Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Functional Rating Scale in ~453 patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis who were treated with placebo in the randomized, double-blind, Phase III EMPOWER trial. SVC was assessed using a calibrated Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
