This cross-sectional study examined the operating characteristics of the CAPTURE screening tool for identifying patients with undiagnosed, clinically significant COPD in a primary care setting in the United States; in total, 4679 individuals aged 45–80 years were enrolled, all of whom had no previous diagnosis of COPD. As part of the study, PEF was measured using the Vitalograph Asmaplan mechanical peak flow meter in combination with Vitalograph SafeTway disposable mouthpieces.
