This cross-sectional study examined the association between pulmonary function, respiratory muscle strength, body composition, and glycemic control in 110 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as compared with 119 control subjects. Ventilatory parameters (VC, FVC, FEV1, PEF, FEF25-75) were measured using a Vitalograph Model S bellows spirometer.
