“Oh, it was fabulous” says one of the participants in an 8-week singing programme for COPD patients in Ireland. Participants were “overwhelmingly positive” about the whole experience, including the social aspect, the boost in confidence and improvements in their breathing and physical well-being.
The programme resulted in a statistically significant change in 6MWT results (p = .02) with a mean (SD) improvement in distance covered of 34 (84) meters (Cahalan et al., 2021). The initiative replicated similar successful programmes in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. #COPD #singstrong #WorldCOPDDay
