Daily Associations of Air Pollution and Pediatric Asthma Risk

Exposure to air pollution is associated with acute pediatric asthma exacerbations, including reduced lung function, rescue medication usage, and increased symptoms, but most studies are limited in investigating longitudinal changes in these acute effects. A study Hua Hao, et al. (2022) aims to investigate the effects of daily air pollution on acute paediatric asthma exacerbation risk.

The study found significant evidence of daily air pollution effects on lung function, rescue

inhaler use, and feeling scared of having trouble breathing because of asthma. The Vitalograph asma-1 was used in this study.
