Is inhaler technique adequately assessed and reported in clinical trials of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease therapy? A systematic review and suggested best practice checklist

Disease Areas:
Asthma, COPD
Device Types:
Asma-1, 4000 series

This systematic review and suggested best practice checklist examined the frequency at which inhaler technique was assessed and optimized before and during enrollment into randomized controlled trials in patients with asthma and COPD who were either initiating a biologic agent or undergoing inhaled therapy escalation. One of the trials included in the review monitored PEF at home in adolescent and adult asthma patients using the Vitalograph Asma-1 asthma monitor.
