FAQ

Yes. A BVF is recommended if the lung monitor USB is intended for in clinic multi-patient use. The plastic mouthpiece supplied with the device can be used where the device is intended for single-patient use. For patient groups with excessive sputum production, a BVF can be used to protect the device flowhead from exhaled particulate matter where this may be a concern.

(!) appears after a blow if; Vext (extrapolated volume) is > 5% or 100mL of FEV6 or a cough is detected in the 1st second.

If a new BVF is used for every test and the lung monitor USB is stored in a clean, dust free environment, then the device should require only surface cleaning using a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe. Full instructions available at Model 4000 – Hygiene & Cleaning Instructions

The lung monitor USB connects to a PC using the USB cable supplied.
