Dorsolateral prefrontal and orbitofrontal cortex interactions during self-control of cigarette craving

This study used transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with functional MRI to examine frontal lobe contributions to cue-induced drug craving under different drug availability conditions in ten otherwise healthy moderate-to-heavy smokers with a mean age of 23 years. As part of the study, a smoking abstinence period of 4 hours was confirmed using the Vitalograph BreathCO monitor.
