Pigtail drainage in the treatment of tuberculous pleural effusions: A randomised study

This randomized study investigated the possible benefit of antituberculosis drug treatment in combination with pigtail drainage, as compared with antituberculosis drug treatment alone, in 61 patients with tuberculous pleurisy. Patients underwent spirometric testing (FVC) at Month 1, 4 and 6 using a Vitalograph spirometer with Spirotrac software.
