Clinical assessment and current treatment of refractory chronic cough

This review examined the features of refractory chronic cough, including risk factors, pathophysiology, assessment, and available pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Methods of cough assessment were outlined; this included currently available systems for cough counting, including the Vitalograph VitaloJAK device, which plays "a role in evaluating changes in cough frequency to treatment and can differentiate cough frequency between diseases".
