In2itiveThis paper describes the design of a study that will examine the short- and long-term effects of non-invasive transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation on volitional upper body exercise capacity in 16 adolescents and adults with a chronic, motor-complete spinal cord injury. Respiratory function (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio, PEF, FEF25–75) will be measured at multiple time points using the Vitalograph In2itive spirometer.
