Association of spirometric restriction with mortality in the silicotics: A cohort study

This retrospective cohort study evaluated the relationship between a restrictive spirometry pattern and the risk of death in 4315 adult patients diagnosed with silicosis. Spirometric measurements (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio) were obtained during a pneumoconiosis compensation assessment at the time of diagnosis using a Vitalograph wedge bellows spirometer.
