A BVF is recommended to use if the copd-6 BT is intended for in clinic multi-subject use. The plastic mouthpiece supplied with the device can be used where the device is intended for single-subject use. For subject groups with excessive sputum production, a BVF can be used to protect the device flowhead from exhaled particulate matter where this may be a concern.

(!) appears after a blow if a cough is detected in the 1st second.

If a new BVF is used for every test and the copd-6 BT is stored in a clean, dust free environment, then the device should require only surface cleaning using a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe. Full instructions available at Model 4000 – Hygiene & Cleaning Instructions.
