This quasi-experimental study evaluated the effects of 8 weeks of simulated laughter therapy, as compared with no laughter therapy, on physical symptoms, pulmonary function, depression, and health-related quality of life in 52 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. PFTs were undertaken pre- and post-therapy and involved the measurement of FEV1 using the Vitalograph COPD-6 device.
