Supporting Local Growth in Maids Moreton

Promoting sustainability in business and everyday life is a key pillar of life in Vitalograph. As proud and active members of our communities, Vitalograph aims to provide support for local initiatives as part of our philanthropic strategy.

In this article, we take a look at the Maids Moreton Allotments Association and how Vitalograph’s support is helping the local community to grow their own produce.

Located in Buckingham UK, the Maids Moreton Allotment Association is home to 48 plot holders, or approximately 10% of the village. Here neighbours can gather to grow their own fresh produce in a supportive and organised environment.

Every year, Vitalograph supports this local initiative with raffle prizes for their annual fundraiser. This fundraiser contributes towards the purchase of shared resources for plot holder use.

“This year, the shared resources that the association is fundraising toward include a defibrillator, rainwater trough/water butts, mower, tiller and rotavator,” explained Helen Venn, Chief Science & Strategy Officer.

Allotment gardening is rising in popularity due to the range of health benefits it offers.

According to Thrive, a UK-based gardening for health charity, allotment gardening offers people a host of mental and physical benefits as they get closer to nature and grow their own fresh produce. In addition, allotment gardening provides people with the opportunity to develop a local community of like-minded people.
