This study assessed whether non-invasive ventilation during chest physiotherapy was able to prevent respiratory muscle fatigue and oxygen desaturation in 27 adult patients with exacerbations of cystic fibrosis. Pulmonary function endpoints included FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio, FEF25–75, and FER, and were measured using a Vitalograph spirometer.
