Impaired lung function and the development of cardiovascular disease

This thesis described the outcomes of a Mendelian randomization study designed to investigate the causal relationship between protein biomarkers of cardiovascular disease and FEV1. The analysis was based on genome-wide association study data derived from 421,986 individuals enrolled in the UK Biobank, in which lung function measurements were obtained using a Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
