Mediterranean diet during pregnancy and childhood respiratory and atopic outcomes: Birth cohort study

This longitudinal study evaluated the association between maternal Mediterranean diet score during pregnancy and current doctor-diagnosed asthma, wheeze, eczema, hay fever, atopy, and lung function in 8907 children aged 7–9 years. The primary endpoint was doctor-diagnosed asthma at age 7.5 years. Lung function testing (FEV1, FVC, FEF25–75) was performed using a Vitalograph In2itive spirometer.
