VitaloPFT Tests COPD Volunteers
We are grateful to the Clare COPD Support Group for volunteering their time and allowing us test their lung function using VitaloPFT Series.
Our new PFT range combines Vitalograph’s high quality, accurate, and durable hardware with the powerful and revolutionary ComPAS2 software from Morgan Scientific, creating the largest range of lab PFT solutions available from a single manufacturer.
The testing day with the inspiring patient advocacy group enabled us to obtain a real-life picture of how well our solutions perform on subjects with respiratory diseases such as COPD.
A team effort was required to get our kit to Cois na hAbhna, where we set up for a day of testing. Lucky for us, the venue is located right next door to our premises in Ennis, County Clare. We brought the VitaloLAB, which gives full spirometry, provocation, DLco (RGA), lung volume measurements and lung clearance index (LCI).
We also brought Eco BVFs, which offer optimal protection for patients, staff and equipment during pulmonary function testing, and is validated for cross-contamination efficiency >99.999%.
Marie Cullinan, Respiratory Nurse, attended on the day to advise and guide the test subjects through the testing procedure. She has a remarkable knowledge of the physiology of respiratory conditions. We learned a lot from her that day.
The team on the day included Martin Healy, Senior Staff Software QA Engineer; Tomas Mullane, Senior Project Manager; Enda Kelly, Product Development Engineering Manager and Meadhbh Hendrie, Senior Marketing Executive.
“It was fantastic to witness these inspiring people from the Clare COPD Support Group along with Respiratory Nurse Marie generously dedicating their time to assist us. Participating in real life testing provided an invaluable learning opportunity in tailoring our product to meet the needs of the very people we are trying to help.”
Tomas Mullane, Senior Project Manager
