$150.00

The Vitalograph copd-6™ identifies those at risk of COPD at the pre-symptomatic stage. The device screens out those whose FEV1 is normal.

The copd-6 screener allows early medical intervention and facilitates better clinical outcomes.

  • Monitors COPD patients using their ‘number’, the obstructive index which is based on a percent of predicted.
  • Facilitates ‘case selection’ so that spirometry can be focused on those likely to be diagnosed with COPD.
  • Screens out anyone with normal FEV1 without the risk of false COPD negatives.
  • Displays FEV1, FEV6, ratio and % predicted, obstructive index, COPD classification and lung age.
  • Displays the GOLD COPD classification (stage I – IV) to help recognize the need for a change in the patient’s management plan.
  • Built-in quality of blow indicator.
  • Large, easy-to-read display

The COPD-6 comes with:

  • Carry pouch
  • Instructions for use
  • 2 x AAA Batteries

FAQ

A BVF is recommended to use if the copd-6 is intended for in clinic multi-subject use. The plastic mouthpiece supplied with the device can be used where the device is intended for single-subject use. For subject groups with excessive sputum production, a BVF can be used to protect the device flowhead from exhaled particulate matter where this may be a concern.

The (!) appears after a blow if; Vext (extrapolated volume) is > 5% or 100mL of FEV6 or a cough is detected in the 1st second.

If a new BVF is used for every test subject and the copd-6 is stored in a clean, dust free environment, then the device should require only surface cleaning using a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe. If you suspect that the device flowhead has become contaminated, refer to the 4000 Series Cleaning Instructions.

No, but results can be entered manually.
