asma-1 Asthma Monitor

Ideal for monitoring PEF and FEV1 at home, work, in clinical trials, in primary or secondary care.

FAQs

Can I use a Bacterial Viral Filter (BVF) with the asma-1?

Add

It is recommended to use a BVF if the asma-1 is intended for multi-subject use. The plastic mouthpiece supplied with the device can be used where the device is intended for single-subject use. For subject groups with excessive sputum production, a BVF can be used to protect the device from exhaled particulate matter where this may be a concern.

What does the quality of blow indicator detect?

Add

The (!) appears after a blow if; Vext (extrapolated volume) is > 5% or 100mL of FEV6 or a cough is detected in the 1st second.

How do you clean the asma-1?

Add

If a new BVF is used for every test subject and the device is stored in a clean, dust free environment, then the monitor should require only surface cleaning using a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe. If you suspect that the device flow head has become contaminated, refer to the 4000 Series Cleaning Instructions.

Can the asma-1 connect with my phone/tablet?

Add

No, but results can be entered manually.

To connect to a supported mobile App, you require the lung monitor BT Smart. If you want to learn more talk to us.
