FAQs

Can I perform bronchodilator responsiveness testing on a VC session as well as post FVC session?

Add

Yes. Under the ‘Post’ (bronchodilator responsiveness) mode, both VC and FVC testing can take place.

Does the Compact require calibration?

Add

No, the Alpha spirometer does not require full calibration. ATS/ERS 2019 Technical Standard recommends a simple calibration verification routine be undertaken daily on all spirometers, regardless of flow technology.  A calibration verification is not to be confused with calibration.

What are the running costs for the Compact?

Add

Running costs are low for the Compact as no disposable sensors, turbines, adaptors or flow tubes are required. The simple, validated hygiene system using Bacterial Viral Filters (BVF™)means that keeping the deviceclean is easy and inexpensive
