A randomized trial of nicotine nasal spray in adolescent smokers

Disease Areas:
Smoking cessation
Device Types:
BreathCO

This open-label, randomized study examined the feasibility and utility of using nicotine nasal spray plus counselling, as compared with counselling alone, in 40 adolescent smokers who wanted to quit smoking; included subjects were aged 15–18 years and had smoked ≥5 cigarettes per day for ≥6 months. As part of the study, expired-air carbon monoxide was measured at baseline and at each follow-up visit using a Vitalograph BreathCO monitor.
