3L SyringeThis paper describes the design of a randomized, single-blind study that will evaluate the effects of aerobic interval training on glucose tolerance in 20 children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis. The primary endpoint will be change in glucose tolerance; secondary endpoints will include lung function, exercise tolerance, respiratory muscle strength, QoL, and disease exacerbations. Lung function endpoints will be collected using a spirometer, with manual calibration undertaken using a Vitalograph 3L syringe.
