Preserved ratio impaired spirometry in relation to cardiovascular outcomes: A large prospective cohort study

This prospective cohort study, which used data from subjects enrolled in the UK Biobank, examined the association between the presence of PRISm at baseline (n=329,954) and PRISm trajectories over time (n=22,781) and the risk of subsequent cardiovascular events. Pulmonary function (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio) was assessed at baseline using the Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
