The effect of pain conditioning on experimentally evoked cough: Evidence of impaired endogenous inhibitory control mechanisms in refractory chronic cough

Disease Areas:
Cough
Device Types:
VitaloJAK

This was a randomized, controlled, crossover study designed to evaluate the effect of pain on capsaicin-evoked cough and urge to cough in healthy volunteers and patients with refractory chronic cough. The co-primary endpoints were the number of evoked coughs and urge to cough score. The Vitalograph VitaloJAK device was used to evaluate 24-hour cough count and cough following full-dose capsaicin challenge.
