This randomized, double-blind, repeated-measures study examined the effects of acute exposure to normobaric hypoxia, as compared with normoxia, on deoxygenation and recruitment of the flexor digitorum superficialis during submaximal intermittent handgrip exercises in 20 healthy adults. As part of the study, FEV1 and FVC were measured using a Vitalograph COPD-6 respiratory monitor.
