Smoking status affects cognitive, emotional and neural-connectivity response to distress-inducing auditory feedback

This study examined the relationship between distress tolerance and task-based functional connectivity in 62 individuals aged 25–55 years who were current or former smokers. To be eligible for inclusion, current smokers were required to have an expired breath CO concentration of >5 ppm, measured using the Vitalograph BreathCO monitor.
