Frequency, kinetics and determinants of viable SARS-CoV-2 in bioaerosols from ambulatory COVID-19 patients infected with the Beta, Delta or Omicron variants

This study examined the culturability of SARS-CoV-2 obtained from size fractionated aerosols generated by 44 ambulatory adult patients with PCR-confirmed COVID-19. As part of the study, participants underwent lung function testing (FEV1, PEF, PCF) using a Vitalograph Asma-1 electronic respiratory monitor.
