Occupational exposures and small airway obstruction in the UK Biobank Cohort

This study used data from 65,145 individuals enrolled in the UK Biobank to identify occupational risk factors for small airway obstruction. Spirometric endpoints included FEV1, FVC, and FEV1/FVC ratio, which were measured using a calibrated Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer. FEV3, FEV6, and FEF25–75 values were extracted from the raw data in order to define small airway obstruction.
