This cross-sectional, case-control study conducted in 100 individuals compared lung function in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus versus normal healthy control subjects. Pulmonary function testing (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio, VC, PEF, FEF25–75) was undertaken using the electronic Vitalograph Compact spirometer.
