This paper describes the design, methods, and challenges of a clinical intervention study that will evaluate the efficacy of recommendations to reduce exposure to desert dust and related health effects in asthmatic children in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Spirometry endpoints will include FEV1 and PEF, measured using the Vitalograph In2itive spirometer. FeNO will be measured using the NIOX VERO device.
