This scoping review examined the use of automated and semi-automated cough counting tools for the objective measurement of cough in patient care and public health. A brief introduction to digital cough monitoring tools and technologies for objectively detecting cough and tracking changes in cough counts over time was provided, including mention of the Vitalograph VitaloJAK cough monitor which the authors noted had "considerably contributed to the field of cough monitoring over the past 20 years for 24-h cough".
