Performance evaluation of ABACAS AI cough analysis system in a chronic cough cohort

This study evaluated ABACAS®, an AI-based cough detection algorithm, as a scalable alternative to manual cough analysis in chronic cough research. Using 24-hour VitaloJAK® recordings from 86 patients, the device captured cough audio data, while ABACAS automatically detected cough events and estimated cough frequency with high sensitivity (91.7%) and excellent agreement with human analysts.
