Childhood body composition trajectories and adolescent lung function. Findings from the ALSPAC study

Disease Areas:
Population study
Device Types:
In2itive

This study evaluated to what extent body weight and body composition trajectories from 7 to 15 years were associated with lung function at 15 years and lung function growth between 8 and 15 years; the study included 6,964 children enrolled in the ALSPAC birth cohort. Lung function testing (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio, FEF25–75) was undertaken when children were aged 8 and 15 years using a Vitalograph In2itive spirometer.
