How often do healthy people cough?

This study quantified spontaneous cough frequency in 79 healthy adult volunteers aged 20–74 years. 24-Hour ambulatory cough monitoring was undertaken using the Vitalograph VitaloJAK cough monitor, with all individual explosive cough sounds tagged electronically by trained cough counters.
