Influence of oxidative stress, diaphragm fatigue, and inspiratory muscle training on the plasma cytokine response to maximum sustainable voluntary ventilation

This placebo-controlled study examined the influence of oxidative stress, diaphragm fatigue, and inspiratory muscle training on the cytokine response to maximum sustainable voluntary ventilation in 12 non-smoking healthy male volunteers. As part of the study, subjects underwent lung function testing using the Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer calibrated with a 3L syringe.
