Neuromuscular electrostimulation as an adjuvant therapy to pulmonary rehabilitation programs in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

This study evaluated the benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation in combination with neuromuscular electrostimulation, as compared with pulmonary rehabilitation alone, in 38 male patients with severe but clinically stable COPD. As part of the study, patients underwent baseline lung function testing using the Vitalograph Alpha spirometer.
