The relationship between air pollution caused by gas flaring and lung function in the Niger Delta

This thesis described outcomes of a descriptive, cross-sectional study that investigated the effect of air pollution caused by gas flaring on the lung function of 170 people living in the Niger Delta. Various lung function parameters were assessed in the study (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio, PEF, VC, EVC, IVC, FEF25, FEF50, FEF75), with measurements collected using a Vitalograph Micro spirometer.
