Treatment effect of idebenone on inspiratory function in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy

This study evaluated how dynamic inspiratory function was affected by idebenone in 64 patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy; inspiratory function metrics included the largest inspiratory flow during an inspiratory FVC maneuver, the largest inspiratory flow during tidal breathing, inspiratory flow ratio, and IFR in % and L/second. Hospital-assessed lung function (PEF, FVC, and FEV1) was assessed using a Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
