Variation in lung function as a marker of adherence to oral and inhaled medication in cystic fibrosis

Disease Areas:
Cystic fibrosis
Device Types:
COMPACT Medical Workstation

This study examined whether variation in lung function was a predictor of adherence to treatment in 249 patients aged ≥16 years enrolled at a cystic fibrosis unit. Potential predictors of adherence included coefficient variation measures for FEV1, body weight, and C-reactive protein concentration, all measured 6–12 months prior to baseline. FEV1 and FVC were measured using a calibrated Vitalograph COMPACT spirometer.
