Impact on Patient Lives

This initiative has the potential to set a new benchmark in professional education, ensuring that healthcare providers and caregivers are equipped to make a lasting impact in the lives of individuals affected by asthma, allergy, and immunological conditions. This could further the enablement of:

  • Accurately diagnose allergic and immunological conditions.

  • Develop effective treatment plans.

  • Provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.

  • Ultimately improve the quality of life for those living with these conditions.

About the Postgraduate Programme in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at UCC

The Postgraduate Allergy and Clinical Immunology Programme commenced in 2022. The program is aimed at healthcare professionals across a range of disciplines, providing the essential training needed to prevent, diagnose, and treat allergic and immunological conditions such as asthma, hay fever, and food allergies. The programme has been developed with an interdisciplinary approach tying in expertise from across the UCC Futures Children Cluster, Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, INFANT Research Centre, and Cork University Hospital.
