Clinical performance of spirometry and respiratory oscillometry for prediction of severe exacerbations in school children with asthma

This study prospectively evaluated the performance of spirometry and respiratory oscillometry for predicting severe asthma exacerbations in 148 asthmatic children aged 6–14 years. Spirometry (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio, FEF25–75) was undertaken using a Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer with Spirotrac-5 software.
