Effect of five genetic variants associated with lung function on the risk of chronic obstructive lung disease, and their joint effects on lung function

Disease Areas:
COPD
Device Types:
Wedge Bellows,Spirotrac,COMPACT Medical Workstation

This analysis used data from 12 population-based studies to examine the association between five genetic variants (TNS1, GSTCD, HTR4, AGER and THSD4) and the risk of COPD (3,284 COPD cases and 17,538 controls), as well as the combined effects of these SNPs and the 4q31 locus near HHIP on lung function and COPD (2,890 COPD cases and 13,862 controls). Several of the included studies used Vitalograph devices to measure lung function (ie the wedge bellows spirometer and the COMPACT Medical Workstation).
