Inspiratory muscle training in stroke patients with congestive heart failure: A CONSORT-compliant prospective randomized single-blind controlled trial

Tuesday, January 25th, 2022

This prospective, randomized, single-blind trial evaluated the efficacy and feasibility of inspiratory muscle training in 21 stroke patients with congestive heart failure in Taiwan. The primary outcome measures were MIP and MEP; secondary outcome measures included pulmonary function (FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC ratio, MMEF), oxyhemoglobin saturation, perceived exertion, and activities of daily living. Pulmonary function was measured using a Vitalograph spirometer with Spirotrac software.
