Prevalence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and associated risk factors in Uganda (FRESH AIR Uganda): A prospective cross-sectional observational study

This prospective, observational, cross-sectional study evaluated the prevalence of COPD and related risk factors in 588 individuals aged >30 years in rural Masindi, Uganda. Lung function testing (FEV1, FVC) was undertaken using a calibrated Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer with Spirotrac software, with a new filter applied for each measurement to avoid contamination.
